So, I have some very exciting news to share with you allโactually, a couple of big announcements! ๐
Over the past few years, many of you have imagined a big team working behind the scenes at Cakes by MK. But in reality, itโs just been meโrecipe testing, filming, editing, writing, and managing all the admin myself. Itโs been a whirlwind (and a lot of late nights ๐ ), but Iโve loved every minute of it.
Which is why Iโm beyond thrilled to finally share that since the end of last year, the CBMK team has grown. I am SO EXCITED to share that my husband, Zakariyya, has officially joined me! ๐ Heโs been my biggest cheerleader since Day 1, and now heโs also taking on all the important behind-the-scenes work that keeps this little baking dream afloat. You wonโt see him on camera (heโs a bit camera shy, hehe), but thanks to him, weโre able to consistently bring you fresh, fun, and delicious recipes each week.
But thatโs not allโฆ thereโs been something else baking here at Cakes by MK๐๐คญ. In February this year, we found out some very exciting news: we have a little bun in the oven! ๐ผ๐ Our hearts are so full, and we cannot wait to welcome our newest addition this November โค๏ธ
To be completely honest, the first trimester really knocked me off my feet, and I havenโt quite felt back to normal since. Between that and everything else, Iโve fallen way behind on replying to blog comments and messages and Iโm so sorry if youโve been waiting to hear back from me! If youโve left a first-time comment on the blog and it hasnโt appeared yet, itโs just because I need to manually approve all new commenters to help keep out spam. At the moment Iโve got over 1,000 comments waiting for approval and replies ๐, but Iโm slowly working my way through them. Zakariyya has been amazing at keeping things running here at CBMK while I catch my breath, but please know I see and appreciate every single comment and message. Iโll be getting back to as many as I can over the coming weeks ๐
Looking ahead, things will look a little different for a short while. Starting this week, youโll just see my hands in the videos (itโs been a much easier way for me to film while we prepare for baby!), but donโt worry, the recipes will still be the same quality-tested bakes you know and love, and I hope to be back on screen early next year!
Zakariyya and I (and our little bean to come!) would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support, for every like, comment, share, and word of encouragement. Youโve turned CBMK into such a special community, and weโre so grateful that we get to share this journey with you.

Babies by MK! ๐คโค๏ธ Congratulations! ๐ฅณ That first trimester really knocks the wind out of you! Haha. But you truly can only go up from here! ๐ฅฐ The hand-style videos are actually really great and you should consider keeping it so that you can alternate between them all and catch some breathers in between. And it would be even more cool to maybe see some baby-friendly bakes by MK, too! ๐ค

And just a short information: your recipies are easy adaptable for babyproof cakes! ๐ I took your sponge cake recipe and replaced some ingredients (like sugar with bananas and dates) and you cannot even taste the difference to a cake with sugar! ๐ฅฐ
